Machine Description
The KDB600 double broom is used as the last machine in the surfacing consist for the final track dressing. Each broom is hydraulically driven and equipped with 228 solid rubber elements. The patented side mounted ridge plows are spring loaded to fold out of the way of uneven ties. A skid assembly allows ridge plows to be held even with the track surface at all times, making for an efficient and consistent job.
Cummins QSB 6.7, Tier 4 Final diesel, 260 hp engine with hydrostatic and vane pumps for propelling brooms and controls. Metal engine enclosure with removable doors and guarded exhaust. All-wheel drivetrain with four-speed manual shift transmission. Wheels can be insulated or non-insulated. Air applied brakes with cobra shoes. Spring applied parking brakes on all four wheels. Funk four speed transmission. Standard turntable.
