Machine Description

The KTC 2000 Tie Crane has a range of movement that sets it apart from other cranes. It is capable of handling 1200 lbs. at 24 ft. from the track centerline. The upper deck is capable of 360° rotation, as is the tie grapple. The boom swing moves independently of the deck and can swing 60°- 120° each side of center. This allows the machine to work efficiently in tight clearances where deck rotation is inhibited.

Power Unit:
John Deere 4045, 99 hp, Tier III engine, with 24V electrical system mounted inside a fiberglass enclosure with hinged doors. 3” diameter alloy steel axles. Both axles are driven with hydraulic motors. Service brakes are air applied, spring released. Parking brakes are spring applied, air released on all wheels. Pressure compensated pump (direct coupled to engine) provides power for propel and all boom/grapple operations. A gear pump (coupled to pressure compensated pump) is provided for continuous cooling and polishing of the hydraulic oil.
Fully enclosed cab includes ergonomic seat with joystick controls for all boom operations. Side mounted air conditioner with heater and pressurizer are standard equipment. Equipped with travel lights, work lights, brake lights, strobe light, horn and fire extinguisher.
Swing Boom:
Boom rotates 60 ° to either side. Boom locks in the “Up” position for rail travel.
Upper Deck and Mainframe:
Heavy duty all welded reinforced construction to withstand loading and provide long life. Minimal tail swing to reduce the possibility of fouling the adjacent track (on 11’-6” centers).
Optional Equipment:
Series/Parallel propel system, Insulated wheels, Basket grapple, Two tie grapple, Lockable toolbox, Rear window wiper, Bumper kit, Emergency shutdown, Hand pump for hydraulic oil fill, Hydraulic drive air conditioner.
